Acupuncture can help you
If you’re recovering from or struggling with a health problem, it’s often because your body’s natural self-healing mechanisms haven’t yet done their job. Acupuncture is one of the oldest and continually used medical systems in the world and is remarkably effective for a wide range of health complaints - be it physical, mental or emotional. It is safe for everyone from children to the elderly and for pregnant women.
In recent times much effort has gone into researching the benefits of acupuncture on our modern day lifestyles. Evidence is emerging that the Chinese over thousands of years indeed have developed a system of healthcare, which in many instances can be used to complement the Western disease based healthcare model. Acupuncture aims to maintain the body's equilibrium by focusing on all aspects of wellbeing - physical, psychological and emotional. A comprehensive list of the conditions alleviated can be found on my Research Page.

Acupuncture Treatment & Benefits
Who would benefit from Acupuncture treatment?
You would likely receive great benefit from this form of care if you are:
1. Struggling with chronic health issues that haven’t responded sufficiently to other forms of care.
2. Interested in reducing dependence on Western medications.
3. Seeking ways to optimize your health on all levels of being.
Many people come to Acupuncture for help with specific symptoms or to relieve specific pains like osteoarthritis of the knee. Patients respond to acupuncture at different rates, depending on the severity and the duration of the illness. Frequency and length of treatment depends very much on your individual condition. Some change is usually felt after two to three treatments, although sometimes after only one or two sessions. Some patients may need treatment over several months or long-term, especially for those with chronic conditions or requiring pain management. You will normally be asked to come once a week for the first three weeks with subsequent treatments suitably spaced out thereafter according to the individual response.
Acupuncture has been acknowledged by the World Health Organisation (WHO) to benefit a variety of illnesses (including nausea of pregnancy, allergies, insomnia, back pain, anxiety, infertility, pregnancy, asthma, constipation and diarrhoea, depression, gynaecological conditions, low immunity, PMS, sciatica, cancer related fatigue). In 2009 the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) recommended that Acupuncture should be made available on the NHS, as a cost effective short term treatment for the management of early, persistent non-specific back pain. NHS This latest recommendation(2012) from NICE that GP's should consider a course of up to 10 sessions of acupuncture for the preventative treatment of tension-type headaches and migraine is welcome news for those people suffering with these debilitating conditions. Acupuncture can be used effectively alongside conventional medicine
Acupuncture is suitable for all ages including those who are pregnant. It can be used effectively alongside conventional medicine. When coming for treatment, a Chinese medicine practitioner is unlikely to isolate your specific condition or symptom as a focal point for treatment; instead all aspects of your being are considered - physical, mental and emotional. Treatment is aimed at the root of your condition as well as your main symptoms. This approach helps with resolving your problem and enhancing your feeling of well-being.
