I am currently undertaking a post graduate qualification in Western Herbal Medicine and I am the final year of my training. This is a five year course, split into two parts, apprenticeship and practitioner, run by Nikki Darrell at The Plant Medicine Schoolin Ireland. The school has several branches including two in the UK. I am a student in the branch school in Exmoor run by Jane Wallwork who is also my supervising clinical tutor.
School principle Nikki Darrell has been working with plants, their medicine and healing, for over four decades. She has a degree in horticulture and plant science and worked as a scientist researching phytochemistry, plant and tissue culture. She has also worked as a practitioner of herbal medicine, aromatherapy and reflexology, Nikki is an educator at all levels from introductory to 3rd level and is the author of five books and many articles. She holds a Masters in Social and Co-operative Enterprise which she embarked on due to her love of sustainable community development.
As part of my final year of clinical training I am required to see a number of patients. The session will be a private supervised zoommeeting between you, me and my clinical tutor. All personal and medical information is treated as confidential, just as it is when I do an acupuncture consultation. For the Student Western Herbal Medicine clinic the online zoom consultation is £10 with the additional weekly cost of herbal medicines being on average £12-15 per week. These costs will be paid to and dispensed by the supervising tutor. For many health imbalances which have been going on for quite a while – herbal medicines may need to be taken for at least 3-6 months. If you would like a herbal consultation with me please phone me on 07584434976 to discuss how best I can be of help.
